Chris Elliott the Tostitos Pick-Up Artist?

Posted by

Baked chips of many varieties seemed to pop up everywhere in the 90s. I’m still a fan of Baked Lays and Baked Cheetos. Advertisements boasted these lower-in-fat (as compared to the originals) like they were some kind of health foods. They’re not. But I’ll still eat them.

Chris Elliott stars in the above commercial as a Tostitos pick-up artist, trying his luck with a group of ladies standing around a snack table. Try as he may to entice them with the benefits of low-fat Tostitos (he’s really bad at this), they keep telling him to “Get out of here!” as in… leave.

Chris sticks around long enough to show off some sweet dance moves.

Baked Tostitos don’t seem to be a thing anymore in the U.S. according to the Frito Lay page (but correct me if I’m wrong) and the only Baked Tostitos products in Canada are the Oven Baked Tostitos Scoops (a.k.a. impossible to eat ninja stars for the mouth).
