Music Video Monday: “Weird Al” Yankovic

Posted by

In celebration of a new album, we’re kicking of “Weird Al” Week here at PopRewind with another round of Music Video Monday dedicated to the music that’s been keeping us laughing all these years.

First up, it’s the song that sold me on “Weird Al”:  “Amish Paradise”.  It’s also the biggest controversy from Yankovic’s career, spawning a feud with rapper Coolio.  Don’t worry, the two made up a few years later at a trade show.

Next up, here’s a video in the “Weird Al” catalog that always seemed a little under appreciated: “It’s All About The Pentiums”.  If the surprise cameos don’t do it for you, at least enjoy the office workers foaming at the mouth as Yankovic smashes a computer Gallagher-style.

I was laughing at this next video before I even knew what the subject matter was.  Here is “Living With A Hernia”.  Did you know the video was filmed on the same set that James Brown used for his scene in Rocky IV?

Finally, here is “Weird Al” Yankovic’s newest video, a parody of “Happy” by Pharrell Williams re-dubbed as “Tacky”.
