Pop Rewind’s New Years Get Psyched 90s Dance Mix

Posted by

We seem to write at length about our guilty pleasures and obsessions of the days. One of mine that makes people shake their heads happens to be an unbridled lust for 90s Dance Mix CDs.

I can’t leave a thrift store without thumbing through the CDs. Usually they’re scratched, water damaged, and generally look like they’ve gone through hell. Dance Mix CDs? Well, not so much. Those were gifts from aunts and uncles that didn’t know what to get their nieces and nephews. These CDs spent most of their time at the bottom of a CD holder, rarely ever making it into that 5 CD changer that couldn’t be more obsolete.

In the spirit of How I Met Your Mother’s Barney Stinson and his Get Psyched Mix, which he uses to attempt to get the party started on New Years, I’ve curated a 90s Dance Mix Get Psyched Playlist to use at your party.

The magic of a Get Psyched Mix is that it doesn’t rise and fall– it’s all rise, baby!

These are all selections from MuchMusic Dance Mix 92-96. I don’t have 97 and judging from the track list it was kind of getting away from 90s dance music anyway.
