Remember when Saturday mornings were worth getting up for? While we can’t provide a four-hour block of programming, here’s some retro news you may have missed (or simply want to revisit) from the past week.
Saturday Morning TV:
We just wrapped up “Weird Al” Week at PopRewind.com, so it only seemed appropriate to show the best episode of his short-lived children’s show.
Moar Robotech?:
Harmony Gold is using Kickstarter to fund a new Robotech animated series: Robotech Academy. Let’s do this!
Music:
In case you somehow missed it after spending a week on this site, “Weird Al” Yankovic dropped a new album this week titled Mandatory Fun. He’s been putting out a new music video every day with more still to come!
Re-Cap:

We started off “Weird Al” Week with a Music Video Monday devoted to the man himself.

Linz invited us to her kitchen for a rather delightful “Weird Al”fredo recipe.

Then we brought you our top “Weird Al” song picks.

And wrapped up the week by re-discovering some lost album artwork. We promise that we’re not obsessed.
RIP:
Tommy Ramone, the last of The Ramones, passed away. John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants
wrote a nice tribute for Slate.
Author: Lee and Linz
Sometimes Lee and Linz collaborate on stuff. This is one of those times.
