Saturday Morning Recap: Vol. 40

Posted by

Remember when Saturday mornings were worth getting up for? While we can’t provide a four-hour block of programming, here’s some retro news you may have missed (or simply want to revisit) from the past week.

Saturday Morning Programming:

We don’t know much about the Get Along Gang, besides the fact that Linz’s parents decorated her room with them in 1983. I guess it’s a better gang to be in than the Crips?

Clear your schedule: Friends comes to Netflix, January 1.

Paul Feig Promises New Ghostbusters Reboot Will be ‘Scarier Than the Original’. We don’t know how to feel about that, but anything Ghostbusters has our undivided attention, in any case.

Some concept art from a potential or not-so-potential Alien movie was uploaded to Instagram. No official word on what the deal is, but it sure looks cool!

In Case You Missed It:

Linz has your party covered with the Pop Rewind’s New Years Get Psyched 90s Dance Mix.

We also celebrated the 15th year anniversary of Y2K!

We also put together some “best of” lists for the year, putting the spotlight on some of our favorite articles, including the Best of the 80s, Best of the 90s, Best of Retro Food, and Best of the Movies.

And finally, we recapped our progress and our special thanks to YOU!

Christine Cavanaugh, Voice Behind Babe, Chuckie on Rugrats, Dexter on Dexter’s Laboratory, and many, many other characters at the center of our childhoods, passed away at the age of 51 on December 22.

Donna Douglas, known for her role as Elly May Clampett on The Beverly Hillbillies, passed away at age 81 on January 1.
