Saturday Morning Recap: Vol. 51

Posted by

Remember when Saturday mornings were worth getting up for? While we can’t provide a four-hour block of programming, here’s some retro news you may have missed (or simply want to revisit) from the past week.

Saturday Morning Programming:

Sometimes there are cartoon series you don’t give a crap about or haven’t revisited in decades, but yet still get the theme song stuck in your head. This is the case for Yo Yogi!, a Yogi Bear cartoon from the 90s that is so 90s. YO YOGI YO!

Fraggle Rock is coming to the big screen, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

Kevin Smith fans! Mallrats 2 is in the works!

The official trailer for Pixels was released and it looks pretty badass.

In what seems like it would be the perfect April Fool’s article for Pop Rewind, in real life Mr. T lands home imrprovement show: I Pity the Tool.

Video Games:

Nintendo is bringing Mario to mobile phones!

A new trailer for the LEGO Jurassic World popped up online this week. LEGO Jeff Goldblum. YES. YES SO HARD.

Microsoft finally (officially) killed Internet Explorer. But now what will we use to download Chrome?

In Case You Missed It:

We started the week off by time travelling back to when we all used Hotmail. Or HoTMaiL.

If you haven’t already, you only have until 11:59 a.m. (EST) today to enter the Third Annual RetroDaze Article Writing Contest!

Did you know there was a Wayne’s World Roller Coaster?! No way! …. WAY!!!

Mike Porcaro, Toto bassist, passed away Sunday at the age of 59.
