Saturday Morning Recap: Vol. 58

Posted by

Remember when Saturday mornings were worth getting up for? While we can’t provide a four-hour block of programming, here’s some retro news you may have missed (or simply want to revisit) from the past week.

Saturday Morning Programming:

Thundercats HOOOOOOO!

Theme Parks:

And suddenly Linz has an interest in going to a theme park! Nintendo to get new rides and attractions at Universal Theme Parks.

The Simpsons have been renewed for two more seasons! If you’ve never watched The Simpsons, now is a perfect time to start. Assuming seasons 27 and 28 are also 22 episode seasons and each episode runs 22 minutes, it would take you 13,596 minutes, or 226.6 hours, or 9.4 days of doing nothing but watching The Simpsons to catch up on everything. And if you wanted to watch the movie, too? Listen, I already did a lot of math, you figure it out.

CBS has officially greenlit Supergirl.

Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ to be Filmed Using the IMAX/ARRI Digital Camera. And I’m sure they’ll keep reminding us so when it’s out in 2018 and 2019 we’ll all remember.

The Red Band Trailer for Vacation was released.

Am I frightened or turned on? Linz has never been this more sexually confused in her life and she’s obsessed with Stormer + Kimber = OTP! McDonald’s brings back the Hamburglar.

In Case You Missed It:

Linz obsessed over Stormer + Kimber = OTP and the new Jem and the Holograms comic series.

Boot up those old computers, Lee and Linz talk picks! 10 MS DOS Games We Actually Played.

Be sure to pop on over to Rediscover the 80s for their Weekly Links!

Holy crap! Horror Decor is releasing an Ecto Cooler candle for a very limited time! They also have a The Stuff candle. WHAT. This is amazing.

We listened to a few podcasts again this week… and they’re both based on unanswerable questions:

Why Are You Listening to This? features retro gaming talk and lots of other amusing conversations with YouTube’s BurningToys and JCAU99.

You probably already listen to the How Did This Get Made? podcast, or at least you should. In the latest episode they tackle Face Off. You need to listen to this.
